Doughnut House Co on Overland and Palms

Hello Donuteers,

Today’s donut blog post takes us to Doughnut House Co on Overland and Palms.  I have heard good things about this place since they have a vast array of foods ranging from croissants to even boba.  This place is located in a little plaza but it catches your eye because of the neon lights in the store.

I made an evening donut run and when I got there the only thing open was a walk up window!  I thought, “this is definitely a first.”  For the cost of 1 dollar, I ordered a good sized old fashioned glazed donut.  When I took my first bite, the thing I noticed most was the texture of the donut.  When I think of old fashioned donuts, the most important thing is the nice crunchy texture on the outside but the inside cake needs to be nice and moist.  This donut had all the qualities of a good old fashioned donut.  I could only imagine how good the donut could have been if I went early in the morning when they were fresh.  There was a nice amount of glaze on the donut and the right amount of sweetness.   I didn’t get the nasty burps afterwards either that somtimes happens when old fashion donuts are fried in poor quality oil.  Overall, I would recommend checking out Doughnut House Co if you are in the neighborhood.  I give it 4 donuts out of 5.
